Default crankshaft postion sensor removal

few weeks ago engine code was P0340 so i went ahead and changed out both Cam/Crank position sensors. started off with the Cam sensor that was a breeze. than i started with the Crank sensor and that’s about it.... i can’t get that thing out, holy crap! i threw everything at it, tools, PB blaster, swear words....beer.

now i noticed it’s starting to break and it has not moved yet. the sensor is in bad shape its so seized.

whats behind the sensor? the motor is a 4.7 with 109k michigan miles.

thanks for anyhelp

Chris

im not sure where your sensor is but on my motor is was BITCH, took me about an hour to get it out. Ended up using a weird array of extensions and swivels to get it out.

mine is located behind the the motor by the transmission left top about.

umm its actually very easy to remove..

take your Passenger side tire off, pull the wheel well plastic crap back, and on the back side of the passenger head/block there is 2 bolts holding it in place, i think a 13mm loosen them through the wheel well and pull it out... easy... no need for extensions or 1 hour of work lol...

the sensor is about same as where user2006 is, but is held down with one 13mm bolt. tire is off plastic stuff is pulled back.
i live in upper michigan where the truck sees 7 months of michigan salt roads, the block is all rust. would i be in trouble if this thing is destroyed from bleeding knuckles? whats behind this thing?

thanks

OMFG OUT OF BEER!!! WHAT WILL WE DOOOOOOOO!!!!

you can get a new sensor ordered online or at the dealership.

just pop the new one in and bam hoop dong dang its done.

and then celebrate with a 12pk of Shinner. Like i do!

also how in the hell did you break it? Its not even in a spot where you can break it even if you wanted to.. lol...

unless it was broken when you took it out,

and what do you mean whats behind it? It goes into the Bellhousing of the tranny next to the flywheel and t/c..
