ya i feel ya, i can do it without a tach but much more prefer to have one just for a "more control" aspect of things.

The jeep i learned on, only had a speedometer. and had to double clutch it. who needs a tach...

damn, i thought i was the only one to learn stick in an old jeep! i'll see if i can dig up an old pic of my uncles its a 1979 CJ-7 with the old AMC 304 V8. beat to sh*t but god damnit it still runs (admittedly rough) but its got 220,000 miles!

That's NEW compared to what i learned in!!!! In the second pic, you can see the origional military ID and other such panels. my friend inherited it down through the line from his grandfather.

I learned in a 65 jeep cj5 got it for free it was used as a woods/camp play toy 4cyl 3 speed 67,000miles. my friend got it from his uncle and it was sitting behind his garage rusting away.

When it first arrived where you see white was rust and the back part of the tub was so rusty we had to cut it off(added a wood bed)

I dont remmeber what year my friends jeep is..i think 40 or 50 something.

pattern:

R 2
1 3

Then hi/lo on one stick and 2/4wd on the other. Inline 4 cyl. Actually likes 4lo really well. top speed all of 35 MPH.

Def would not win any races but to get to beat on a old jeep at the age of 13 was fun

thats how old my friend is (met him through robotics/parents). Yup, gotta love computerless vehicles. :P

very very very true... give me a V8, 5 speed and nothing else and I'm happy thats why i like this truck so much, i mean i only have ABs in the rear wheels but everything else i am in control of
