and current mileage will be nice... was 10w-30 oil used? thicker viscosity will cause a pressure spike. let alone the original magnum engines (3.9 v6 and 5.2/5.9 v8s - same family) can run 6 psi oil at curbside idle and between 30-80 psi at 3000 rpms. that came from an 01 factory manual. my money is on those specs havent changed in 4 years prior to 01.

its normal for it to fluctuate, i think the rule of thumb is 10PSI for every 1000 rpms

but your numbers could just be because it is low on oil or the wrong kind of oil was used...

Welcome to the forum and hopefully you stay a while!!! Cheers.

check your coolant though, should never go over 210,
do you notice any performance changes?

Factory guages or aftermarket add ons?
did the change in readings happen both at the same time, or did you notice a gradual change?

I'm not sure what the stock thermostat is...but I know that pressurized water/antifreeze combination boils at 250-270 F or so depending on water content and anothing over 230 is good on the motor.

I'd say check the coolant level, make sure the radiator fins aren't clogged, the clutch fan is engaging properly, that's all i can think of..

check your ground strap, wire, from the engine to the body, body to battery and under the dash by your hood release.
If both gauges changed at the same time, you might have a poor ground and getting the wrong voltage from the sending units.
Just a guess.
Typically,,, you would not have a large change in both your oil pressure and coolant temp at the same time, unless it is a related to the sending units/ guages, not the independant systems. Find the common denominator to both guages and you will find the problem.

On the OLDER mopars, there was a resistor on the back of the dash guage that would F up and cause this same problem, but that was 20 or so years ago.
I haven't had a new dash apart so i do not know if this is still there.
