see thats not the problem its still riveted in real good, but the only thing holding the top control arm to the spindle is the rubber boot.

so i woulda had some serious negative camber going on...lol a minitruckers dream .
plus the whole stuck on the side of the road sucks, my truck has only left me stuck once

I had my tie rod go on me on my 3.9. Literally i had just gotten off the highway to school and i was only going about 15 because I was pulling onto the main road from the off ramp. I was so lucky. 99.9% off the trip is highway and I manged to break it on the .1% that wasn't high way and only going 15. It scares me because a friend of mine broke a tie rod and hit a tree going 45. I was so lucky. You were too batty.

yea i had a tie rod go, i was in the school parking lot, felt the need to move my truck from the back of the lot to the front, if i didnt, it wouldve gone on the freeway

update:
changed both upper and lower balljoints, i do feel a difference driving it

battery died before i could get a pic of the lower...bummer

why did you use cuttin torch...i grinder and a hammer would be better

IMO i would use a grinder

uhhh... yea no, it woulda taken much more time, plus i had to get the control arm heated so i could punch it through anyways, those rivets are hardened steel, when youres go you'll find out
used a 6 pound sledge and a good punch, still had to reheat a couple of them, did use a die grinder for any leftovers
