FIXED..then broke
ok, so i hate westlake and that damn road they dont maintain
wow, the hub bearing took im not kidding you, 5 minutes to change, went like a dream
BUT, i managed to snap off one of my caliper bolts...
and, thats not the best part....
popped the top balljoint out of its socket WOHOO!
so 35 for a balljoint...
5 for the bolt/pin.....
and a weekend without the truck...
could be worse, i coulda been driving when the ball joint let go

I've had this happen twice. I don't know if there's much a difference between the ball joints in the 1st and 2nd gen dakotas, but all that happened was the steering got loose on me (but not uncontrollable). My 2 upper ball joints are now welded in.
