I thought it would be on the tailshaft of the rans (Tcase on 4x4) like usual?

Oh, whatever happened to cable drive speedometers...

All the GM trans i've seen I think it was on the driver side of the tailshaft....

not for nothin' but,,,,,,,,, how much of a time span are you talkin' here?
If i did your trans and you brought it back to me a month later, i would feel the same way. that's not right that you drove it and never told the repair shop about it. If it was a day or two i would say it was something i left un connected or even a bad wire that got pinched.
But to bring it back " a while later because it never bother me" thats just wrong my friend.

should be on the back tail shaft. on in the transfer case pretty much as far as you can get before the transmission.

Well that's you opinion i never gave them a hard time until they denied me twice i was not trying to be a pest i was very nice about it, when i got it back and then time went on and it did not bother me until recently i never really had the time since i was on reserve for the army. So have your opinion and ill still do it the way i want..

Now i didn't want to come off sounding negative, but you didn't say all that the first time around.
I was just thinking that if you drove it for a good long while and then took it back, it raises the question "why" after such a long time, does it not work NOW. I hope you can see my point.

The LAST trans i built, the customer brought back to me a week later and said i did something to his carb, and I HAVE to fix it. He said it didn't run like that before i worked on his trans.

See my point? it is frustrating when you wait a while because who knows what happened in that week.

If you let the guy know about the problem, and said you would bring it back when you have time is another story.
