i believe the tranny is from a 97... but what if its from a 96?all the sensors and everthing plugged in. I think my friend will let me use his ecu... Does it matter if its 4x4?

shouldn't i have a 2wd ecm but mines 4x4. But the speed sensor had to be wired in differently.

try getting a computer for a 98 and seeing if it does anything. i know 97's are different and before that they used OBDI, not that im sure that means anything but theres something up there.

Would a 1998 Durango PCM work because i have access to one of those?

Allright I got the Durango ECU and it seems that the 98 ram ecu is the same. My P/N for the ECU is "56046". Tried firing it up but no go.All the gauges and everything work. I can hear the fuel pump turning on. I believe its not getting spark. What should I check?

check to see if your getting power from the coil to the cap. If not either you have something grounded out that shouldn't be (which probably isn't the case.) Bad crank sensor or a bad cam sensor. And I hope you used the v8 flex plate.

where is the cam sensor located?
