Did a cross-refrence and found out that the Dakota uses the same filter as the Ram. And we have found a larger one. Look at the last page of the thread for correct P/N.

Our gift from the 2nd gen Ram guys!!

Default Oil flter

I've sld car parts for a longtime. The Ford V-8 filter- AC no. PF2 is the same as the Chrysler PF20, Fram 8A and PH20 are the same except for the length. Don't recall the Wix or Hastings nos.

of course its gonna fit our engines... same engines. just may have fitment between the frame issues (too long). as long as it has a good micron filtration rating, idc if its an inch long

would this lower your oil pressure? or make you have to add a little more oil? i've thought about it before just to make sure my baby keeps running smooth for forever

On my 3.9L, I don't think I could squeeze a taller filter in there. Possibly an inch taller or so, but definitely no more than that.

a bigger oil filter has no real world daily driving benefits,
unless you neglect on your oil changes, theres no real reason to have a bigger one.

mine is the same size as the one on my parents triton V10
its also bigger than the one on my sisters v6
