Talking Just came into some money, The ol' Dak is gettin a makeover

I just came into an extra 2000$+ that I have nothing to do with, sooooooo... Im giving it all to my Dakota!

Here is what I have planned

Wheels:
-I'm going to get a set of the black Cragar Soft 8's wrapped in my 33 inch Cooper M/T tires.

Headlights:
-Set of HID Halo Pro Smoke Headlights

Body:
-Truck is getting repainted to a dull satin, almost flat Army Green like from a WWII Jeep.
-Spray in bedliner,
-Bedline spray on fender flares, Rockers from the body line down, and the front and rear plastic Bumper pieces.
-Grille will be painted flat black.
-Windows Tinted
-Selling my silver toolbox, and getting a black one.
-A black stripe running vertically down the bed of the truck. Similar to users red one, but with no lettering.

Performance:

-A set of headers, I like the ones user has. ( user, if you read this what are they?)
-Getting a cat-back dual exhaust, not sure which muffler to go with yet. I really like the sound of a Thrush though.

Here is a summary of what my truck is now

-2000 Dakota Club Cab 4x4 SLT
-Driftwood Satin Silver with black rockers, flares and bumper plastics
-Swapped the 3.9L for a brand new built 5.2L
-Cold Air Intake
-Remote Start
-3" blocks with Torsion Bar Crank
-3" performance accessories body lift
-33" Cooper Discoverer STT Mudders
-Custom white face gauges, turns blue at night
-Premium Sound System installed
-Aftermarket Taillights

I will post some pics later of what my truck looks like now, and keep progress pics as I install them.

Get an Aero Turbine muffler. Aggressive when you romp in it and near inaudible while cruising.

You should really consider regearing as well.

you've got it all wrong my man. get a 426 small block stroker kit with that. thats right... 426 cubes out of originally 318 cubes.... it is possible. Then swap in a 727 and a 8.75 rear with a locker and some slicks and you're all set to go fast.

Do you have a link to that kit? Cause I was under the impression you could only build a 426 with a 360 block. It would be a 360 bored .030 over with a 4.18 inch crank. First off, I've never seen a 4.18 inch crank with 318 mains, and to get the bore big enough in a 318, you'd have to bore it out .120.... not gonna happen with any block ever made.

But Hughesengines.com has a 426 rotating assembly for a 360 for like $1600 or so.

Yea I think you can only go 392 with the 318.

the 318 and 360 are both the same block. look on google.com I have seen many 408 stroker kits for under $2,000
