Default my 3.9 to 5.9 swap starts soon!!!

i just got an amazing deal on a 02 qc 5.9 2wd dakota for $1500 complete truck not even totaled, interior is gone and no bed. this truck runs perfect with 117,000 miles and its such a lucky find. the motor is goin in my 02 cc 3.9 2wd dakota. Since i have the same year trucks and i hav the wiring harness, ecu, and pretty much anything ill need, my only questions are motor mounts. will i need to fab new ones? i havnt had a chance to look at my 3.9 ones to compare. next the wiring harness, ive read that i need to splice where it comes into the cab, is that true. Other then that is there any other things i should look out for with this swap, ive read tons of posts on it but just want to be clear on all the odds and ends, unfortuantely i need to be able to do this entire swap in about 4 days (july 4th weekend)

thanks for any help
sorry about the length but im giddy like a school girl to get rid of this 3.9!!

just put in the 5.9 computer and splice in 2 injector wires. You may want to do an overhaul on that 5.9 with 117k. I would at least take off the oil pan and look at the bottom end before I did a swap. I would also put all new gaskets on it if I were you.

New oil pump and main bearings would not be a bad idea, since you don't know the history of the 5.9.

why don't you just swap your body over to the 5.9 chassis. unless your looking to eliminate the 4x4.

I would recommend replacing all of the gaskets while you have the engine out, including the rear main seal and front seal. Cost me a little over $200 to replace the gaskets on a 318, and I am glad I did, found a few that needed it. The other option would be to just replace the ones that are harder or impossible to get to while the engine in in the truck, like the rear main seal, front main seal, oil pan gasket.

If you are on a timeline though and don't think you can tear it down in time just swap it in.

Don't need new motor mounts and like others say give that 360 a little tlc before you swap it in. It will def. pay off.

yeah why not just do a body swap? regardless, if you decide to change everything over, be sure to check it out before and take care of what you need to before its in the truck...

If you ahve some pic's i know I would sure love to see em
