Default Transmission shifting problem

i have a 2000 dodge dakota 4.7L 4wd

here is my problem

-when shifting into drive there is a delay then hard shift, you can feel it shift
-while driving when it goes to shift from 2nd to 3rd there is also a delay then hard shift
-when going over 45 miles per hour there is a jumpy feeling like lightly taping on the breaks, almost like its jumping in and out of a shift.

a coworker said he had a 2001 dodge ram with these same symptoms and said it was a sensor but cant remember which one

any solutions are helpful

*Edit* ive checked the fluid level, its where its suppose to be
*edit* the only work ive recently done on my truck was get a new powersteering pump, havent done anything to the tranny.

Did you ever get this figured out? I have a 01 with similar symptoms and would like to know what you found out on this one. Thanks.. And mine is not low tranny fluid.

There are only 2 sensors I think on the trans. Have you messed with the tv cable at all, or had any work done for a shift kit or anything to the valve body?

I just bought the truck and I have not messed with it at all and from looking at it I would say that no one else has messed with the tranny either. The truck is completely un modified.

You realize this thread is 12 years old? I would be surprised if he even still has the truck.....
