cold Idle issues

Default cold Idle issues

Hello all,

When I start my truck in the morning it idles from 400 rpm to 1000 and bouncs back and forth until it warms up. My enginge light came on today and I checked the code... p0301.

2004 dakota
4.7 v8
auto
slt...quad...

any help is apreciated!

p0301 should be a cylinder 1 misfire...

that would be cylinder #1 miss fire

need to check your connections for your coil pack, have you been playin in the mud lately or has it rained? when you stomp on it does the whole truck shake and sputter...

No I havnt been mudding...It is fine after it warms up. when I step on it it goes just like normal. about 500 miles ago I had the fuel system maintenance done at sears...when they replaced my clutch fan. I am thinking IAC? or TPS?

not likely...when was the last time you changed your plugs?

thats the first place id look, cheap as all get out... might as well replace em, i have the 4.7l also and have had great success in the autolite 3923's
