Default Would this TB work or do I need the other one?

2002 3.9 v6
I found a 1999 5.2 TB locally for 25.
Haven't seen it so not sure what it looks like.
I've heard differing opinions about whether a 50mm is alright or not on the 3.9
What's your experience?

it's called a venturi, without it you lose some bottom end torque. i dont remember what the TB's are, but all are venturi'd by 2 mm.

a stock 1999 5.2 throttle body should be 48mm, i have that pickup and just upgraded TO a 50mm. I have heard thats a popular upgrade for v6 trucks and for $25 try it, you can resell it on ebay if you dont like it

no. 5.2 and 5.9 use the same 50mm? throttle body (if you look at the casting, it says V6 or V8 at front right). Also, stockers are made by Holley.

V6 is 48mm i think?

5.2/5.9s use 47mm stock.

The V6s use 39mm.

According to this guy who ports and sells stock throttle bodies (including mine).

i got a bored out 50mm throttle body from this guy:

http://www.thefastman.com/

way cheaper than a new one from scratch and being in a pollution controlled state having it look stock was important to me.
