Assuming that your Dakota does not have a sentry key (grey head key) and the Durango does not have a sentry key, it should be pretty much plug and play. You might have a problem if you didn't have the Durango computer, but since you do, I would say you are good to go.

Anybody chime in if I am mistaken...

As far as I know. The Dakota/Durango is *******ly identical in drivetrain layout. There will be some small variation in trannys because I don't think the 5.2 uses a 46re like a 5.9 does.

So what are my options if the durango had the chipped key? Swap the harness with my 5.2 harness and use the same computer?

If the Durango had a chipped key, the computer wont do you much good unless you can get the key, ignition switch, and sentry module from the Durango. The Durango computer will be looking for a key signal when you attempt to start it. I do think that the 5.2 and 5.9 engine programming are the same, so the 5.2 computer should work. I can't say for 100% tho.

In that case, as long as you use the 00 computer and harness, you oughta be good to go.

You can probably even use the 5.2 computer. Also check it has the same style dash If I were U i would keep your 5.2 harness and computer and match it up to the 5.9 The only difference will be a different air to fuel mixture as long as your computer can do that your set.

Will all the sensor chips be the same from both motors?
