Default shocks? speakers?

Just bought a 2000 Dakota club cab with 4.7L, cap, tow package, 4x4, infinity speakers, auto trans, and 75,000mi.

Some of the speakers are blown. What are some options for replacing all of them? The rear shocks need to be replaced. What are some nice shocks to replace them with?

I also read that the 2000 auto trans has a few problem parts that can be fixed with a shift kit or two? Which ones? What should I get?

Will post pics when I get a chance to take some.

for speakers, http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/ has the best prices. I actually like Infinity, Clarion, MB Quart. If you dont know what sizes to get, check out Crutchfield.com

as for shocks, Rockauto.com is your friend.

Thanks, Andrew.

I was also wondering if there is any way to hook-up an auxiliary input to the factory stereo. I would like to attach an MP3 player, since the CD player doesn't read MP3's and doesn't work well to begin with. Has anyone done this before?

I got great pioneer 3-way speakers for my 99 at best buy I'd definitely recommend them (good price too) I'm not sure since you have a club cab but in the regular cab it's a 4 speaker system and they're all 6.5" round speakers (2 door, 2 behind the seat) Also I got a tape deck attachment for my ipod like what everyone used to have for the discman type thing which worked great til my tape player quit, then I got a pioneer ipod ready head unit for around 200 bucks, WELL WORTH IT! If you get a rear aux you can run the cord into your glove box and be able to control everything on the head unit without touching your mp3 player... awesome system for around $400

I have this same one in my truck and I love it I can plug my ipod or usb drive into it and can control my ipod without even picking it up. It works very well and I also have my sub hooked up to it and it had everything there for that. For the price its great and installation only took me 20min I give it a 4.5 out or 5

while those are nice features, and that is a low price. Sony car audio has always been of low quality.
If you are going to bother getting a new headunit, might as well get a good quality one for a few bucks more.

Thanks for the sugestions, everyone. I purchased two pair of these: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SPS6...tml?o=r&tp=105

Only they were $70/pair with free shipping from onlinecarstereo.com Will update with my thoughts on them.

Sounds like a new head unit is in my future. Will the "iPod-ready" units only work with iPods or can you also control other MP3 players?

Pretty sure I'll be putting Sensa-Trac's on the rear of the truck.

I got those from my bro in law when he sold his truck they are a better replacment over stock. Ipod ready head units will not control the mp3 player but it will stil play the audio if you ask me its not that big of a deal you just have to keep the mp3 close if you want to change songs.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to trying the new speakers.

And it seems that most iPod-ready receivers also have an auxiliary jack in the front for other devices. Should work just fine.

Got some Sensa-Trac's to put on the rear. Now I just need to post a few pics of the truck.

I had the sony xplod head unit in my truck but I didn't really like it as much as my alpine unit I had in my last dakota. Both were the same price but the alpine looked cleaner (IMO) and had an ipod interface where as my xplod was only an aux. I know you can get a sony with one but mine wasn't.
