'01 Factory Stereo ID
I have a factory CD player without cassette or optional changer. The PO jammed 2 discs in the unit and damaged it.
Time to upgrade the head unit.
What are the different factory audio configurations? mine has the Infinity logo on the door tweeter covers, but no reference to Infinity on the head unit. A pictorial guide would be so handy...

If you have the Infinity tweeters on the doors, you have the OE system with separate tweeters and midranges in the front doors and a set of OE Infinity coaxial 6" speakers in the rear side panels. There is an Infinity amplifier located in the passenger's kick panel. It is about 20 watts by 4 channels. If you replace the radio with an aftermarket unit be sure to connect the remote on wire on the new unit to the remote on wire for the factory amp or you will have no sound. It's very easy to connect everything if you use the matching wire harness to wire up a new head unit and just plug it in to the factory radio harness. Best Buy, Walmart, any good independent car audio shop will all carry the parts you need for the installation. If you don't use a harness, the remote on wire for the amp is green with an orange stripe.
The other available stereo -which you do not have- is the factory AM/FM cassette and either 2 or 4 standard speakers, depending on what cab you have.
