I dont think my transmission is completly junk (yet)

Once the trans. warms up to O.T. it will begin to "stick" in first and lock the converter as if you would have "low locked" the truck yourself. (note, the gear indicator is still in drive)

This sound more like a computer controlled issue rather then a trans. issue right?

The truck will also jump out of OD after a period of time (10+ mins) and then lock back in.

Any ideas??

Ya possibly a wire issue. Check the stickys in this section for the service manual to help with wiring diagrams.
