Default Aftermarket Air Intake/Filter

For guys who have aftermarket intakes on their Dakotas, do you notice any real difference over the factory air box?

Was contemplating between just getting a drop-in K&N panel filter for the air box, or getting a whole new aftermarket intake if there is any real benefit in performance.

Sound for sure especially when i mash the throttle, theirs a sweet suction sound. other good than that throttle response. plus it makes cleaning the TB a breeze.

i tried to attach a pic but it keeps saying file too big.

I have the FIPK cold air intake. I think the sound is noticeably deeper and you can hear it breath better. When I've got a heavy load behind me it does seem to help increase power at higher RPMs. To be honest, I'm not unsatisfied with it but if you were to ask me if I'd do it again I would spend the money on something else for my truck. Keep in mind, that's my only powertrain mod. Maybe with an exhaust/header mod it would be even better. I didn't see much if any increase in mileage.

just did a search on ebay and found this used one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-c...Q5fAccessories

i bought mine off ebay for 125 and it works great, on mine the previous owner had an air sensor that required a hole to be drilled in it, but mine doesn't so just filled the hole

this one looks like the hole hasn't been drilled so if you have one you need to make the hole.

thats the way i bought it (used). it was a steal at $6,250, all the mods, superchips, intake, tonneau cover and exhaust were on it already. except the ***** didn't tell me the speakers were completely blown so i dropped a 100 for the speakers (just front, rears too much of a hassel to change right now)and another 120 for the tint.

sorry offtopic again.
