Is this the factory Dodge alarm or is it an aftermarket alarm? In other words does the keyless remote have the Dodge logo on it or is it some other brand. You saying there is a black button under the dash that does nothing leads me to think you may have a Directed Electronics alarm there, Viper, Python, Sidewinder, they are all the same. If so, that black button is the valet/override button. In order for it to disarm the alarm you have to turn the ignition key to "run" and press the button once and let it go. The alarm should turn off within a few seconds after that.
If you have a factory alarm and keyless entry, it may have shorted or caused some other problem with the Central Timer Module when you gave the other person a jump start. CTM is the small black box located in the driver's kick panel. You can try unplugging the 3 connectors to it and waiting a few minutes then re-connecting it to see if it might reset.
More info about what is actually installed in the truck is needed to be able to help you any further. If you have an aftermarket system you may need to contact a good auto security shop or car audio store and have them check it for you. If you have the factory keyless and alarm and the CTM reset does not work, you should see the Dodge dealer.

yes it's factory alarm. it does have the little ram logo on it. I took my truck to a locksmith that programs keyless enrty remotes and he pass over a singel box(i guess that what it was) he said it had no singel, change the battery in it about 4months ago. So i don't think it was the batterys. I order 2 pads for it. but will try what you said. thanx for the help.

It is unlikely that both remotes would quit working at the same time. I think you have problems with the CTM. See the Dodge dealer if the locksmith can't get it working for you. If you do need new remotes, they have to be programmed to the CTM with the DRB scan tool at the dealer. I have never heard of a locksmith programming the Dodge remotes successfully.
Good luck with it and let us know how it turns out.
