Default Humming while accelerating

Like the title says, my trucks makes a humming noise while on the gas. It stops when i let off. What could it be?

I don't know what you mean by a humming noise, but if its a whine it could be the pinion bearings going bad. But like thunder98110 said, we need more info!

I'm not sure where the noise is coming from. But it's only when on the gas. I just put in a rear end with only 56k on it. Its a 9.25 12 bolt with limited slip. The truck made the noise before i changed the rear end.

The truck is an 01 3.9 Auto

couldnt agree more !


also check u joints make sure they are well greased a buddy had that problem ended up being u joints .

i have the same prob with my 01 dakota 4.7 only makes the whine/hum when giving gas also happens when slowing down. when im coasting it doese nothing pich changes with speed thou please help

Wheelbearing, cv axle, ball joints, i heard the same noise and checked them all and they all were bad. if you turn left or right and it sounds like your rubbing it's definitly your wheelbearing
