Looked thru my Haynes manual, and couldn't find rengine removal.
Starter should be bolted to engine, but there might be a bolt that goes thru trans bell housing.

Sounds like something is being a pita. Jiggeling and rocking should get it unstuck. Retrace your steps and make sure that all wiring and hoses are removed, as these will usually give you a little slack, but prevent you from getting it out.
Looks like starter is blted to block like the GM's, 2 bolts u from the bottom. Make sure that cables and wires are disconnected.

And patience while asking for free advise is allways appreciated, too. And thank you's go a long way

same deal. im either thinking the torque converter or flywheel is hung on the stater gear possible. but not sure. also the starter is mounted on the bellhousing not the block. i can swivel the engine about 3 degrees each way so i know its loose from the bellhousing. cant figure whats holding it.

Good to hear that it's out. I figured that it would be something simple. It usually is.
