just found out that i have a leaky rack/pinion steering unit on my wifes 02 dakota. the garages estimate was 1800.00. is it a hard job for do it yourselfer and where can i get info on replacing it
No, it's not that hard t do on your own, it's definately not worth the 1800 the shop wants to charge you. The only part that sucks is that you'll need to have it re-aligned when you're done.
