torque converter stuck

Default torque converter stuck

installed my engine wrong w/ the torque converter mounted on the engine as if it were a 5 speed. "idiot". anyways my torque converters stuck i tryed wiggling for two days nothing happened.. so i cut it out. but the front is still stuck. ive opted to ask for input on why it maybe stuck ive uploaded photos.. hopefully i havent done anything to the trans. any info appreciated.. thank you

98 dodge dakota 4x4 3.9l v6

engine 2002 3.9l v6

trans- whatever comes stock in a 98 dakota 4x4

would like to add that the piece thats left in spins and move in and out about 1/4 inch but wont come out. any info about whats going on or what i can do will help. thanks again

i'd try heating it up and prying it off.

That sucks. Sounds like it is stuck on the spines. One is frayed or chipped. That is causing it to stick. If you haven't already try taking a brass punch and lightly hammer it out, hit the torque converter piece only. If not yea you can try heating it up then hitting it. A small air chisel only on low hit the TC piece only. If still nothing I would say get a small cut off wheel and go VERY slow on it. Cut it 2 times opposite ends down the middle. Don't cut all the way threw get it very thin. then try to rip it apart with your hands or use a screw driver or pliers to pull the sections apart. Again don't touch the splines.

Once it is off inspect the splines, clean then as necessary.
