Good find.

Still new around here. What do you guys think?

It's a 2002 3.9L, 5-Speed. To me, the interior is the real jewel for this truck. I keep it spotless and maintain it weekly. Not a single tear, scratch, crack, sun damage, or mark on the interior of this truck. I recently had a brand new head liner put in since the old one was the only flaw in the interior and it was driving me crazy. The exterior however, would be flawless, if i didn't have clear coat peeling. The truck will be getting a brand new paint job very soon though, as well as taking the grey out to remove the two-tone look. It's only peeling on the doors and back corner of the cab, so it's not that bad. Also need new headlights since my current ones have cracked on the inside bottom so they are taking in water and look awful.

Once i repaint it, get new headlights, and new tires, the truck i believe will look brand new.

The 5.9 swap wasn't bad at all really if you've done an engine swap before. Just my stepdad and I got it all knocked out in a day.

Just an updated pic of my dakota with the gutter gaurd grill inserts and my new to me tires and rims. I had the rims sand blasted and I spray painted them. Of course a month later I find a set of 5 cragar soft 8's locally on craigslist for $125. Naturally I still have to go get them. I'm hoping in spring I can buy myself a late christmas/graduation present and get a body lift and some 33's to put on the cragars.

That looks pretty good. What did you use to paint the rims, and how'd you go about doing it? I'm planning to do that to mine.

Also the headlights, what are they, and where'd you get them?

First thing I did was take the rims in and had them sand blasted. Made sure to clean them good when I got them home. Then I used 2 coats of etching primer I got at a local auto parts store and 3 coats of a semi gloss black. It was a pain trying to paint in all the spokes without getting runs. The headlights came from ebay they look good but thats about it theres no adjustment on them and arent very bright.

Default My new daily driver

I just got a 1997 dakota with 3.9 v6 4x4 sport . It is in great shape and drives so smooth. i just need to put a engine in it. Its pretty nice for a past down truck. Aunt didn't want to put the time and money into it and really liked what i did with my other dakota.

Future plans.

crank then torsion bars, add a leaf in the back, and 3 inch body lift.

Hey, I have a little question for about everybody. I'm noticing alot of people have the same fender trim. My 98 dakota didn't have it when I bought it and I think my truck really needs some. So for all of you that have them, did they come like that? If so, can I contact dodge and get some? I can't seem to find much about it on the internet except for buying bushwacker trim, but maybe that's what you all have? Any info would be helpful, thanks.
