That's the only reason I probably won't ever own an r/t. There just isn't anything fun about putting that baby in D and stepping on it...

My first truck was a manual, then I bought an automatic dakota and hated not having a manual. I'm so happy I bought my 5 speed 4.7. I hate automatics with a passion.

Unless of course we are talking like full on drag car. Then there really is no other option. But it's not like the automatic you put in your daily.

yea my first truck was a 98 f-250 diesil with the 7.3 with like really low towing gears. Chuggin around town in that thing was fun cause if you were next to someone with there window down you can blow a nice load of black soot into the cab. Anyway back on topic i loved driving that thing around because of the 5 speed. It was just SO badass and i felt like i have more control!

Dont get me wrong, i love my dakota but i would trade back in a heartbeat lol

Id have to agree i hate automatics with a passion and refuse to own 1. Unfortunately its so hard to find a vehicle these days with 1. I fear with in the next 5 years they will be completely fazed out except in high end performance cars in favor for the crap-a-matics... Chevy no longer puts them in any of there trucks except the 4 cycl Colorado and ford only puts them in the ranger, thankfully Dodge still puts them in the 2500 and up. Owell guess ill be buying used for life.
