shocks wont give you any lift, all that a shock does is stop the truck from bouncing for as long a time (the only lift you will get from shocks is if you are riding with them bottomed out)

Well if you're 4wd, you don't have springs or struts. And shocks won't lift you any. You have torsion bars. They can give you about 2 inches of lift. But it's all body lift, not suspension lift.

If you're 2wd... well I'm not as sure because I don't own one. Im guessing you would need springs and control arms. But then again, why lift a 2wd?

horse-shoes? please clarify.

Do reg, club, quad cabs all use same springs? I would think quad would have heavier springs, fit them into a rc/cc to gain a half inch here or there? What about the coil-assist shocks? My friend got those fir his 89 chevy 1500, they boosted the front end 1.5" at the top of the fender.
