lol and 100% of the time when you mention MPG's on this thread you'll get contradicting views. Granted you might only get 1mpg difference, but that will pay for itself eventually.

00DakSport how did you make your intake? did you just use pvc pipe and a spectre filter from autozone? then obviously like you said painted it black? it looks really good by the way. Did you notice any difference in performance?

Hey that was a good idea, 00daksport. Im thinking about doing one myself but I saw on ebay and found one for about 40 dollars and it has metal tubing. How does that sound for mpg, hp, etc.?

Wow we've never been through this before...

It will pay for itself eventually. Might take a a year depending on how much you spend. But $40-50 and you'll make it back, even if you only gain a mpg.

if you make your own you can use pvc or abs. ABS is black already so u dont have to paint it. As far as performance goes you will get a little better throttle response and a little better gas mileage. I would reccomend you get rid of the silencer and air box as well. The silencer is the box coming out of your throttlebody.

It is very easy to make and well worth it! If you buy a k&n filter to slap on, it usualy comes witha sticker so you can slap that baby on the abs and call it a k&n CAI system. Works for me LOL!!

when i made mine i just glued it together with pvc cement. and 2 couplings to
connect to the tb and filter. i never used a metal tube but i think it would sound
wierd.

pic of coupling

Yeah dude im in the same boat as you are, i cant figure out what intake to do and not all for makin my own. Do any of yal know if it would do the same thing if i just put in a direct fit filter?

Oh and about the metal piping dont use it, the whole point of a CAI is to cool the air and metal piping defeats that purpose because it conducts heat therefore heating up the air.
And as far as filters i would rather use aFe instead of K&N just because of people ive talked to but thats up to you.
