i hope its a cheap fix, already spent 130 trying to fix this, had 2 bad o2 sencers and i replaced the camshaft position sensor but still a bad connection so its been deduced down to the wire being bad...does the dealership charge to test your computer? keep in mind i dont have a service plan or warranty.

maybe by the end of all this all the guys at my local dealership will know me too lol...im just gonna pray this fixes it =)

i probably wont do that then if they try to charge me 40, cause since its either the wire or the computer, im just gonna replace the wire and if it keeps up with all this im gonna trade it in or something

ok after a little research ive concluded that the dealership here is a rip off, ive looked up in a few places the wiring harness for my truck is no where near 1300$...still a little expencive but not that much, at least if im looking it up right.

any of you guys know a good site to order this from? looking to get a complete wiring harness for a Dodge Dakota SLT, 2001, V8 4.7L automatic.

or if i can just get the camshaft position circut that would be great as it probably wouldnt cost as much for that as it would the full harness.

thanks for your time, ill be searching for more deals on the harness

If rock auto dosent have it on there website, call them. They can usually get parts even if they dont show them on there site. Sucks that your dealership is trying to rip you off. If rock auto is a no go, PM me and let me know. I am going to a pick and pull sometime next week and I will see if I cant find one for ya that is in good shape.

well i went out and tryed to trace that wire myself, it seems it goes straight up from the sencor and ties into the ignition coil pack wire harness between the motor and the firewall (hard to get to without cutting my arm on the end of a screw that mounts something).

i was tempted to try to cut the harness apart and trace it further but im afraid i might make things worse, maybe i should try to take some pics to show you guys what im talking about.

Cowboy ill call rockauto and see if they can help me out but if not ill definitly appreciate you looking for me, ill let you know if rockauto is unable to help.

thanks for all the help guys! im glad to see im not the only one that takes a little time out to help others every now and then.
