And it didnt come with any fasteners to secure it down what should i use the fasten the tool box down. also i dont want to drill threw the paint on the bed because rust will form then

Lift up your plastic liner if you want to see rust, depending on climate and how often you remove said liner.

Depending on the roads and what you'll have in it, you can probably use 4 or 6 1/4" bolts, and just bolt it to the plastic liner. If you want to get serious about it, weld some tabs on it that go under the curl, so you can run a screw against it from the bottom side, clamping it in. That's how hard tonneau's are done.

j bolts work fine, thats how my buddy's ram's tool box is install, he only has one on each side and they rn't that thick, doesn't move at all, and his tool box is heavy, its one of the ones with "doors" on each side, that open to the middle and its made outa steel, his is also on top of a drop in liner, just cut slots in the liner and ur good

I've had a tool box in EVERY truck I've ever owned, used a single J-bolt on each side of every one of them. Thisaway, the only thing you gotta do is drill a single hole in each side of the box, no drilling into the truck necessary...
