need info on 4.7 to 5.2 swap

Huh... so a thought comes to mind... to swap in the 5.9, engine, trans & wiring harnesses for both is all that is needed?
5.9 daks get snatched up very quick around here... wonder if it would be profitable to do a swap on a truck with a dead motor. I see 5.9 durango's often, usually at $1k or less and usually its the trans thats gone.

if you maintain a yugo and drive without stress on the car i'm sure it would last to but under normal TRUCK driving cond the 4.7 will crap out long before a 5.2 even if there are people that have them with extreme miles if that same person had a 5.2 they would get extreme miles also! But under stress in the same truck will outlast a 4.7 so please tell me you are not trying to say that a 4.7 will outlast a 5.2 in any situation cause my opinion of the 4.7 was reached by the fact that i know where several 4.7 trucks have blowed eng and i can't tell you of any 5.2 trucks with bad engines 5.2 have issues but the 4.7 is prone to major failure versus the 5.2

Yeah, every engine has it's issues. The 5.9 has the plenum leak issue, weak cylinder heads and timing chains jumping teeth, plus it was paired with a weak tranny. I've seen it all and unlike some who speak on the 4.7 having never owned one, I've owned both and know people who own both.
My first time pulling off the valve covers was last year to replace the lifters and that was with over 300K. The drivetrain is all original and pretty tight. Oil changes are every 7.5K. Pretty basic maintenance. I've overheated it a few times to the point of boiling the coolant (long story) and she still runs great.

You looked past numerous recent replies to say that, then added your own lil tidbit to the ancient thread. LOL
