Default Transmission Accumulator Plate Bent

Anyone have this happen? Its on my 02 Dakota. Brought it in saturday for a simple oil change and transmission service and the tech noticed the bent plate and one of the screws that hold the plate to the valve body was missing and the other loose. Supposedly there is a TSB on the issue and the tranny guy I am taking it to on Thursday has done them before. Beefier plate and two extra screw holes need to be drilled into the VB.

OK well I'm picking up the Dak today. $350 later the plate is repaired and apparently this is a fairly common occurrence according to the owner of the tranny shop. Dodge actually makes a repair kit for the fix with a thicker plate and two extra screws that need to be drilled and tapped into the valve body.

Yes this a common problem,But there is no longer a TSB for the plate. What you now is cll the dealer and ask them for a repair kit for the valve body, this is only on the 45RFE or 545RFE transmission. Not the 42RLE. Part number 5174633AB this the new supersedence number. Price is around 50.00 dollars.

does this apply to the 5.7's 545RFE as well, then? Ours is an 05, wondering if it was fixed by then.

Thanks MT. Unfortunately, now i gotta bring it back to the shop. The tranny pan is leaking. Looks like he used a thin cork gasket and not RTV.
