Wow I have missed a lot. Been doing renovations on a house so I have been super busy.

Your guys bumpers look great. I have learned a lot and also in the completing stages of building another bumper. The bumper is the slimmer one I was talking about in earlier posts. Looks great and once its mounted, I will post pics.
I will also get some clearance measurements (aka approach angle measurements)

This bumper just covers the rad but also allows room for a winch. There is not much room for improvement for approach angle having a winch inside and still barely covering the rad for protection.

I agree with the center piece being 1/4" plate. You need strength there but not overkill. Regular A36 mild steel plate works great. Anything harder is a bit of a waste and thicker just adds weight.

As for the steel, I get a lot from work and sheer the plate to the right sizes. We do have a 40 foot plasma and oxy propane burning table. I used some plasma and torch for the lugs and curved top pieces. I might buy a full sheet one day and cut all the pieces out.

Im going to weigh the bumper but it feels to be in the neighborhood of 50 to 60lbs. (with out winch of course) Not too shabby.

The drawings are not too difficult to draw up once you have the trucks frame and body frame measurements. Designing from scratch is what takes the time.
