01 3.9 4X2 QC Intake Backfire

Default 01 3.9 4X2 QC Intake Backfire
I have an 01 3.9 4X2 Dakota Quad Cab with 110,000 miles and today it started to lose power and backfire through the intake a few times. It lasts about 5 seconds each time it happens. Any ideas? Thanks.

was it durring idle or while driving? i would start by checking plugs and rotor

Sorry. Forgot to tell you. Put new plugs, wires cap & rotor on a few months ago.

It does it while driving and happens about every 15 minutes or so. It was doing it when i bought the pickup about a year ago but suddenly stopped. Now it has started again.

Today it happened quite a bit. It usually happens at highway speeds. Today it was while i was driving slow in town...and got worse when I would make a left turn.......
