Default Part out or sell as project

As many of you know Lucy has run into a rough patch. I was contemplating dropping in a 5.2 but then I would want to do a solid axle swap and all this is A. way more than I can afford and B. more than buying a Jeep wrangler which is what I've wanted for a long time. So any way the big question is should I try to sell it as a project vehicle (aka any one want a fun project!) or should I part it out mainly the bumper, winch, lights, rims and tires, and then sending the rest to a junk yard? I don't really like either option but I can't really devote the time and money needed to get it running again. Thoughts?

Hate to hear your having so much trouble.
What to do? Only you can answer that.
Lot of blood, sweat, and tears in that trk.

Got my dakota when my s-10 was giving so much trouble. now i have 2 trks
s-10 both rear wheel wells ate out, bottom of both doors, cab mounts and cab corners, drivers side fender ate out, BUT still can't get rid of it.

S-10 has never left me beside of the road. came close but all ways limped home.

Anyway you can get your Jeep and keep the Dakota?
Jeep does not have a bed to haul stuff.

How much would you take for entire try?

But you know if it had a v8 you wouldnt want to let it go. I would love a jeep wrangler but I need a truck more. Plus I already got a cj its got a v8 manual and no top so im happy with it.

I can't get both because of cost issues and I would love it if it had a v8 and a SAS but I don't know how to weld or fabricate and can't afford to keep the truck off the road until I get the SAS in unfortunately. I was thinking of selling if for $1700 as is does that seem fair? It still isn't definite about selling it I have someone looking around at auctions to see about what wranglers are going for if they're out of my budget then I'll have to reconsider everything.

Thing is wranglers hold their value pretty good. We had a 02 4.0 auto 33's 3 or 4in lift(cant remember) and we bought it for 12,000 only had like 70,000k on it got rid of it a year later for 15,000. Before that jeep we had a 97 4.0 5 speed sahara edition had 33's and 160k on it still sold for 8,000.
This was my fav jeep we owned

Im going to bet even at auction your stil lookingg at about 3 grand for one unless its pretty rough.

I know they hold their value well but even a $3000 thats way less than what it would cost me to drop a V8 in and swap in a solid front axle. Because to do that I need to get a welder and learn how to weld haha

I wish i lived where you are! junk yards around Eastern NC think they sell pure gold. Hell when I went to get a new hood bumper and fender for a '93 geo storm they wanted almost $800. I only paid $300 for the car! I'm heading home in a few days for fall break so I'm going to look more into all of this I'm just really trying to get opinions on it all right now because I really don't want to have to get rid of her but I also don't want to put a ton more money into a 12 year old car haha.

Sorry Its 250 for engine and 150 for tranny(always mix them up) but yeah this place makes enough from scrap so they dont have to jack up prices on parts. I went there couple weeks ago got a rad for a 93 cherokee, dist cap and wires, dash bezel for my truck and all the engine fuses and relays for the jeep paid 25.00 for it all lol Theres guys on jeep forum paying 40-50.00 for a used rad.
