I wouldnt do a dual exhaust setup because its a v6 and i've yet to hear a v6 with duals that had a good sound. Stay with the stock setup but change your muffler to a flowmaster or something. My buddy had a flowmaster on his v6 5 speed and it sounded pretty good. The guy down the road from me has duals on his v6 dakota and its obnoxious and sounds like a 4cyl honda.

my buddy had a chevy s10 extreme with a 4.3l v6 in it with the single outlet gibson exhaust with shorty headers and it sounded so nice with a nice throaty sound. i think its the best you can do with a v6 without being annoying sounding

Im not sure of the length of the stock muffler but it is a 2.5 inlet and 2.5 outlet.

Hi, I just put a magnaflow on my 3.9 SXT a few weeks ago. It sounds pretty good, but obviously you can't expect the same sound as you would out of a V8. It's not too obnoxious (or at least I don't think so) in or outside the cab, and has a nice rumble to it at idle. Here is the link on amazon. It was easy to install, just got some adapters and new exhaust clamps, and a hanger I think.
