Question New member...got a question.

So I have a 2002 dakota sport with a 3.9L Magnum. What kind of exhaust would sound nice with it? I want dual exhaust on it but I just dont know what kind to purchase. I also don't want it obnoxiously loud. If you could help, please let me know!

On my previous truck, which was an 04 Dakota qc....4.7l v8 though, I went with a magnaflow, and LOVED it! Single outlet, same spot as the factory, just a "catback" system.

My current truck, 04 ram 1500 5.7 the previous owner had a catback single in, dual out that come out behind the rear wheels and it's a Flowmaster system. kinda loud for my taste...but oh well. I'll get around to changing it one of these days

Ok, I might seem real dumb here..but I don't know much about exhausts. I don't know what a "catback" is and/or means. Sorry...I don't know THAT much about exhausts... so please bare with me.

Pretty much the back "half" of the system.......muffler, and the rest of the piping to the tip. Full exhaust is the headers, the mufflers, and all piping, catback is everything but the headers......enjoy

will sound totally different on your 3.9L V6. I have the same engine you do and I have heard systems on the v6 and they sound terrible. Actually I dont think I have ever heard a v6 with an exhaust I liked. Always sounds like someone trying to be a V8 but coming way short. Go on YouTube and type in "Dakota Exhaust". I watched a few videos and by far they all sounded terrible.

Oh great...well I want dual exhaust for sure. And i just want a little rumble to it. Nothing loud, like I said before. Just something to sound good enough to pull off. I guess i'll do some more researching. Thanks though!

catback is exhaust that starts from the catalytic converter back to the tips
