You cant advance or retard the timing??

I replaced the plenum gasket, It was bad the PO couldnt figure out the problem, I sprayed a crap load of intake cleaner through it after I changed it ect..

I towed a trailer loaded down and it chattererd bad, I got superchip 3865 I think and got it on fuel mileage setting and its not as bad now. But anyway back on topic.

I got my 3.9 to 115 or so but it took forever to get there. I haven't tried in the 4.7, but I don't really care either. It's a 4x4 pickup lol. Even if it was limited at 98 or whatever it's like how often do I need to go 98? If this was my bike, different story, but it's my daily driver, 4x4, 5k pound truck lol.

Well, I found it interesting. It's cool to push the limits sometimes. It kinda made me want to finally hook up the intake to the cowl, like a proper cowl induction hood =P

Turning the dizzy only changes the fuel sync, timing is computer controlled and can only be changed with a tuner.

The Superchips will advance timing, are you using the correct gas grade for the tune you're running?

It could be carbon buildup, I've personally seen Seafoam cure carbon buildup related pinging.

Had mine up to 100 when she was newer but slowed down because there are to many bushes along the highway for the state police to hide behind down here. They just love to catch speeders down here . I think they just like to go fast too.

Oh ok, Maybe ill replace the mapp sensor first..?

Fuel mileage tune says its good for 87 octane, and that is what I run.

I have heard lots good about sea foam, Maybe ill give that a try.

Pinging is timing to far advanced is it not? or carbon build up like you mentioned.

Doubtful on the MAP sensor.

Pinging can be a number of things. Advanced timing, carbon build up, boost pressure(obviously not an issue on your rig), lean condition, too much compression(again, obviously not an issue on your rig), ect.

The problem of carbon buildup is twofold. It takes up space in the combustion chamber increasing compression and makes hot-spot that can ignite the fuel/air mix prematurely.
