What axles did they put in the 04 SLT? Sorry if this is a really elementary question.

Front Chrysler 8.0
Rear will be a Chrysler 8.25 or a Chrysler 9.25. I believe the 9.25 only came on the R/T's. The 8.25 diff cover is Oval shaped. The 9.25 is Octagon.

Nah the 9.25 should have came in most V8s, not just the R/T.

my 98 has the 8.25 and I have a v8. I thought the 9.25 only came in dakotas with lsd but I might be wrong. Oh and my truck has the HD option and I know for a fact I have a 8.25

Like I said, most V8s, not all. My friends 2000 4.7 auto has a 9.25 (open too, not LSD), so does his step dads 2002 QC 4.7.

Im not anywhere near my truck but I think in the glove box it should say. Mine tells me paint codes what tranny I have and what gears heck it even tells me what size brake drums I have I have. You can just look at the rear and compare it to pics on the link crazy4x4rt provided
