That is a very good point, and one I didnt think of last night. The stiffer side walls make a HUGE difference, especially in a new tire. Check the air pressure, and put them at whatever the sticker says too, and see if that helps. As the tire "breaks in" the ride should soften slightly.
Your old tires were a "P" rated, 4-ply tire. Your new ones are "LT" rated and are a 6-ply tire design. So yes, the new ones will ride stiffer. I wouldn't run any higher air pressure than 35psi. Unless you have a heavy load, the tires will take up to 50psi. By the way, I had the Uniroyal Liberator's on my '93, and they rode great. Loved them.

OK, I've dropped them to 35 and 40 per the sticker. We'll see if that helps. If not, I am definitely going to have the balance checked somewhere other than where they were done originally!
Balance would not be an issue unless you were feeling a vibration in your butt (rear) or steering wheel (front.) I am running Michelin 31's on my 92. I keep my pressures at 35 front 33 rear and am getting even wear. I would recommend that you drop your pressures even further to something around mine. I raise mine to 35 front 40 rear when I tow. As someone else said going to 31's are 6 or even 8 ply tires. They will run a little rougher that 4 ply tires.

OK, they're still at 35 and 41. Haven't had a chance to get out on the freeway yet, but my trip to work seemed a little smoother today! Thanks everyone...
