well i got the new iac in and reset the computer, turned the key on and the check engine light went off, started it up and it idled like a dream. i guess you can turn around a bad weekend lol. the old one had a lot of carbon build up and might could just be cleaned but i really dont mind havin new parts on my baby. and thank you everyone for your help
exactly, probley gonna start checkin other sensors tomorrow, someone said they tend to start goin out around my mileage. if i could find the one causeing my brake light and abs light coming on im gonna replace that so i can use my cruise control again
If the old IAC sensor was pretty gummed up chances are the IAC port is the same way along with the rest of the TB. Do yourself a favor, remove the TB and give it a real good cleaning, especially the IAC port and it'll run even better.

Just an FYI, the free lawyer was the NLSO (Navy Legal Services Office) I was talking about. Ask your LPO or your Chief about them. They provide all kind of services and can save you a lot of time and money. Congrats on getting your rig up and running! Welcome to dak world...
i think ill clean the tb this weekend, i found a thread with pretty detailed instructions on doin so. should be able to feel a notice considering just replaceing the iac i could tell adifference today. should i just pick up some throttle body cleaner or whats the best thing to use?
I used a couple cans of carb and choke cleaner and an old tooth brush on mine, made a decent difference in throttle responce, but after 180k miles on mine, I dont think it had ever been cleaned.
Hey your in the hampton roads area i dont know about navy bases but Ft Eustis has a autocraft shop they have lifts and tools you can check out , and do your own work and they have an ASE cert mechanic there that can give you advice on the fly if you need it (but they wont do the work for you ) you have to rent the bay you use its something like $2.75 an hour just throwing it out there for you so if you need a lift or somewhere that has tools that you dont have , all you need is youre MIL ID. i used it when i was up there in school to change my oil and to get under my R/T with out having to lay on the ground.
