Remove skid plates...make life easy

I would say keep 2 bolts in...my cover likes to rotate and splash you...sneaky bastad...anyway, its easy...When you put the front on..dry fit a few times to get the motion down so you dont get RTV on your gears...

75-90 is correct, although I read somewhere that the front takes 75-90 and the rear takes 75-140, so i might be worth calling the dealer and seeing what they say is recommended.

I found it in one of the myriad manuals I have. It's 75W-90. Think I'm gonna use Valvoline SynPower full synthetic.

75W-90 for both the front & rear? I have been thinking about changing mine, 93,000 miles, never changed. Anything special to know? Spray the gears/inside down with cleaner or anything? I know the limited slip needs additive added to the gear oil. I checked on a gasket for the rear, was $4. Trying to decide which gear oil to use, thinking about Mobil 1 synthetic.

Thanks everyone.

i used royal purple and its got the additive already in there. and most of us just use red rtv sealant instead of the gasket. loosen the top bolts a few turns but take the bottoms off, and pry the cover with a screwdriver. once its all drained out take out the remaining bolts. 13mm bolts on mine.

yep what thunder said and I also just use the red rtv. I've used the rtv for awhile now and with no problems. Oh I also use brake cleaner to clean all the oil slime off the diff and cover.

The Valvoline SynPower has the additive in it also. Can't afford the Royal Purple right now at 4x the cost per quart...

So not using a gasket does not cause any clearance problems? Will check out the red RTV. Anyone know the torque spec on the bolts?

Thanks everyone.
