Default Foam in oil filler tube 4.7

Hi For years my 2002 Dakota has had foam build up in the oil fill tube , THE STRANGE part is that it only happens in the winter , I figured the engine was running to cold so i've changed the thermostat several times to no avail, This past Dec I changed the oil to a synthetic and the problem seems to be worse , Any ideas and has anyone else had this problem , Thanks , Ed PS the truck has HD cooling

Maybe a moderator should make this a sticky for a little while.
