Is there a proportioning valve on the system? It could be off center.

i will have to look and see about that(just freezing out lol)
i hooked up the battery and started the truck but light is still on so my search continues

ill have to check the grounds on the dash too as it looks like last owner took it apart and forgot a bunch of screws, computer wasnt even bolted down :S

maybe it has something to do with that, or maybe they were trying to find the cause lol

Did you see if the parking brake was causing the problem. I know in my buddys old dak it was a 5 speed when you would release the pbrake it wouldnt come back far enough to shut the light off so you had to pull the lever and pull the pedal back like a extra half inch. If it were me and there are no brake issuses then I would pull the bulb for the brake light.

i would pull the bulb but it there is an issue in the future and i cant sell it like that lol

yeah first thing i checked was the ebrake sensor/ground. was hoping that was the problem as i have had it on other cars and that the issue

You might want to check all the underbody parking brake cables to see if they are binding up. I would also try to unplug the break sensors to see if light goes out as the sensor or switch might be bad or it might be a bad connection.

sorry been busy but i still havent got the problem fixed

but i have been driving the truck pretty much every day and noticed a few more things with the brakes.

ok well the brakes work good, i dont have a problem stopping and pedal feels good but some times when i press the brake i notice the brake like on the cluster(red light) flicker

also my truck dings twice and then again when im driving about 20secs after the first time. anyone know what that means?

no other lights on my instrument cluster and all gauge readings are good.

Sounds like the proportioning valve is off center.

The valve is mechanical. You can disconnect the electrical connector on it and see if the light goes out.
