Brake light stays on - 1997 dakota
so i tried to unplug it and light was still on
any other ideas of what it could be.
if you unhook the battery and leave it for a day so it forgets everything then hook it back up. the light it on right away. i think ive checked everything on this truck lol.
i know the dash was pulled out so maybe a gound or wire wasnt put back on? its a long shot but i think i will pull the dash out and see and while im at it i will change the heater core and see why my tempurature doesnt turn all the way to hot(something blocking the blend door)

You should have Rear Wheel Anti Lock brakes as they were standard in 1997. There is a brake control module, should be on the driver side inner fender. It's not the big setup like the 4 wheel abs unit. Two connectors on it.
There is also a brake pressure switch, it looks like it's on the proportioning valve, it has a black 2 pin electrical connector.
A DRB can scan the system. The red warning light can go on if there is a fault. If the controller has failed it will need to be programmed for the truck. It might be easier to check it before you pull the dash.
