how to identify gears
I bought my dak two years ago an am thinking in installing 35s an probably change the gears on both differentials.
I don't know what did the previous owner did to the truck so, is there any way of knowing which type of gears (3.55?) is my truck using?

or you can jack up one rear tire (if no posi), put the trans or t-case into neutral, and rotate that tire around twice while counting the rotations of the driveshaft.
If the rear axle has posi, then you need to jack up both tires, put it into neutral, then rotate the tire around once while counting the rotations of the driveshaft.
for example, if you had 4.10 gears then the driveshaft would rotate around just over 4 times. 3.55 gears would be 3 and a half times.

Thanks!!! Just did this and confirmed they are 3.55, just wanted to confirm because de PO did a lot of mods on the truck and i didn't know if he had changed the gears.
BTW i will be installing 35s on the truck. Do you think that it will do ok mated with 4.10 gears?
