Changed spark plugs, lost mileage

Run the Champion Coppers, the Dodge Coils tend to run on a lower voltage and prefer the copper plugs over anything else. Copper plugs are OE on almost all of the Dodges.

Left the stock Champions in. Also changed O2 sensors, getting about 15.5 mpg now. An improvement over what I was getting.

the pcm may have had to adjust to the new plugs and if the O2 sensor was bad that could have been your problem as well. glad its better now for you.

the actual OE style for the 97 style calls for Champion Resistor type which if you read the Resistor slows the fire a bit.. not much but I ran them and hated them.. truck had more power with the Champion Platinum's IMO
