See Dakota Hemi Swap ..With Pics...Thread..It will show you how and give some advice..You might not want to do it after you see what I went through This swap is not for the week, tool less or people with no patients..
BUT IT's well worth it when it's done...
okay, are the mounts different for the 4.7? i just need to know where to get the actual engine, ove decided i just want a v8 instead of moding my v6. lol
i looked on mopars site, but they dont have crate engines for sale. i have a 98 2wd
Yes, the motor mounts, and even the location of the mounts are different just about any motor you change to is goimg to have different mounts,Swap to a Hemi,, You wont be disapointed..
well you have a 98 so you have a 3.9 v6, doing a 5.9 swap will save you lots of time and work. 5.7 hemi is great but lots is needed to get it done right a lot more work for a hemi than a 5.9. Im perfectly happy with my stock 5.2 its got all the power I need though a 5.9 would be nice.
Ramguy makes a good point -there's nothing wrong with a 360 Dodge fuel injected Motor. It would give your 98 some go-go-fo show..You can find them reasonably priced and performance parts are cheaper than 4.7 or Hemi Motors..
My Motto:hp=$$..But there's no replacement for displacement..Go big or go home..
