My New System :D
Is that top subwoofer just sitting there? You don't want it becoming a deadly projectile in the event of a car accident.
By the way, what speakers do you have for mids and highs, and what do you have powering them?

sry, been away for from my computer for a bit,
maxim, no the top box is crewed into the bottom via two screws inside the box
olsarge, right now i'm just using some elite 6.5 inch speakers in the front and nothing in the back, run by a standard aftermarket head unit, nothing fancy yet
but to put it into perspective this system hits so hard that the ENTIRE reap panel(incuding rear window) flew about an inch both ways

I woudl consider covering that metal with some Dynomat or somthing to that effect.. then covering it.. not only to make it look 'good' but also decrease some of the pitchyness i'm sure its throwing out..

I have been considering getting some dynomat, It would get some of the rattle away, but i just don't know how I can get the rear of the cab from hitting the bed, its got about a 1-2 inch gap between bed and cab and if I put my finger between the two while its bumping......well it hurts lol. Maybe some expanding foam+Dynomat?
I'll try and post a video up later today.

Well it would absorb some of the energy being transferred.. as well would make the sound a little tighter sounding and you would not have that irritating resonance from the 'hollow metal sound' im sure you must be getting just like my truck had..
I wound up leaving the leat and stuff because it helped insulate and I'm lazy and cheap and didnt want to fork out the $$ for some mat.
As far as the bed against the cab.. to be honest, you might need to fire them up.. I tested with mine and they sounded the best firing up rather firing forward.. but that was just me.. ?? Dunno did you ever try it with just the two MTX firing up?
The 3rd sub do you have that tunned the same as the MTX? Or do you have some sort of High pass filter on it cutting freq at the same point as the lp for the 2 MTX... or are you just connected all into one amp?
Reason I'm asking is might get more bang for your buck having the MTX do lets say (Its lowest Freq it can handle) for discussion sake lets say 20HZ (MTX is more like 24, 25 on most.. but that varies) low pass freq. set around 60, 65, 76 (depending on the amp and its Clipping threshold.. (this means the highest freq that can be applied at the point where the lower freq. starts to clip from trying to repoduce the higher freq in music at the same point low freq are trying to be recreated)
THen have the xplod.. lets say set a high pass filter rather its an inline or amp driven like JBL amps have.. the Bass Optimization Circit. Set at the same number the MTX are set to cut out..
So anything set lower than that freq will not pass.. then have the Xplod's low pass setting upwards of 120ish.. or higher.. but that would also intel tuning the box higher..
This would give you an all around sound shaping and repoduction of the lower end bass that is not good to run through Subwoofers that mids/high and even comp sets can't really reproduce well?
Ok.. Im sure I screwed that explanation up but anyways.. it looks cool..
I'd post a pic of mine but dont want to post hijack :P
