TPS symptons - feels like transmission slipping

Hello:
I have an 01 Dak (4.7 auto 4x4) that did what i 'think' you are describing......
Driving on interstate at 65-70 and it would seem to hunt for the right gear, rpm would kick up then drop back down........
replaced the idle air control (what the heck an air control for idle has to do with this a that speed IDK) and the problem went away.....
Think it was less that $35 tax out the door at O'Rielys auto parts.....

If it opens then it's letting even more air in.. just like you pressed the gas.. would be my guess..
