I tend to think if the clutch disc was bent you'd have a hell of a lot of chattering when you tried to engage the clutch and start moving.

Does the throwout bearing turn freely and smoothly while you are applying pressure to it?
How does the end of the input shaft look, where it goes into the pilot bearing? Is it lubed?

What brand clutch kit did you get?

FWIW, Dodge says not to resurface the flywheel, it's not flat. It has a contour on it. I don't think thats causing the noise though.

I actually heard a lot of clatter when I depressed the clutch. Throwout bearing fine, input shaft is lubed. I used a duralast kit.

Alright good news replaced all the parts again and no noise, thankfully. One small, hopefully, issue. When I depress the clutch all the way the truck still moves slightly if I have it in gear. Is there an adjustment I am missing?

Thanks again for all the help.

I would have bled/replaced the clutch sys while it was apart...of course, thats assuming its hydraulic like mine. Could be low fluid etc. Or, could just need a little breaking in to get that small amount worn off...

Glad you got rid of the noise.

There is no bleeder on the clutch, it comes as an assembly, and no adjustment. Does it clash going into gear?

No and weird thing is I drove it last night and today and now it appears fine. Maybe it was something with all the parts being new. I'm going to keep an eye on it before I do anything else.

Thanks AGAIN!!

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Dont resurface the flywheel???? I know some vehicles are just different but that goes against any and everything I've ever heard. Where exactly did you hear that?

The 2000 Dakota factory service manual.

It says it has "a unique contour that would be negated by machining..." and tells you just to use 180 grit emery to remove any minor surface scoring.
